Gas pipeline capacity into Texas, Louisiana rising

The oil fields underlying Texas and Louisiana have long supplied the United States with natural gas.

But with more LNG export terminals, like Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass facility, under construction along the Gulf Coast, more and more gas is now flowing into the region.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, natural gas pipeline capacity into the “South Central” United States will reach almost 19 billion cubic feet a day by the end of this year, almost twice what it was five years ago…
