John Bel Edwards: I don’t want to put out a ‘plan b’ on taxes yet

Gov. John Bel Edwards said he isn’t interested in putting out a “plan b” on how to fix Louisiana’s tax structure yet. If the Legislature doesn’t like the one he has on the table, lawmakers can propose an alternative.

“If I put forward a plan that they don’t embrace, they ought to have an alternative plan,” said Edwards in a conversation with The Times-Picayune editorial board Thursday (April 20).

“I don’t put plan b out there until it’s needed,” said the governor, when asked if he had a backup option in case nothing materializes from lawmakers…
