State-wide blood drive planned Friday to address shortage in Louisiana in Harvey’s wake

Gov. John Bel Edwards administration is organizing a state-wide blood drive for Friday to help relieve Louisiana’s blood supply shortage and address increased need throughout the region, following Hurricane Harvey’s destruction in Texas.

“Louisianans always step up in a time of crisis and pull together to help those most in need,” Edwards said in a news release. “I am asking anyone who can give to please do so either this Friday or in the near future.”
