Abstract: Prohibits Class VI injection wells in certain lakes with outstanding qualities.

Present law authorizes the commissioner of conservation to issue permits for Class VI injection wells.

Proposed law provides an exception to this authority by prohibiting the commissioner from issuing permits for Class VI wells on the following lakes:

(1) Caney Lake.

‍
(2) Lake Maurepas.

‍
(3) Lake Pontchartrain.

‍
(4) Toledo Bend Reservoir.
